This is one freaking huge ship. Shane mused as he continued his walk, trying to blow off some steam from his converstation with Ahsoka. As far as he could tell, the common area of the deck was surrounded by the dining area, exersice room, living quarters, etc, which were in turn, surrounded by either the Sic's or Dic's respective sides of the ship.

Shane halted his walk suddenly as he came to area, it's "entrance" covered with signs that read, KEEP OUT!! or ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!. He smiled as he then noticed a signature at the bottom which read, in very poor handwriting, Sic. "Well, I guess I'm in the right place." Shane muttered, continuing foward, drawing his sidearm and keeping an eye out for Sic. The daring signs at the front had peaked his curiousity about this part of the ship, and Sic. He wanted to know what was so dangerous on this side, or if it was just the Sic that he needed to look out for. No doubt he would find out soon enough.

Nasty. He thought to himself as he ran a hand along the wall of the particularly dark hallway. It was much colder and more damp the walls in the main deck area, and Shane wondered if it was a reflection of the occupant. Either way, he found that he was liking these halls. The dim lights and stingy atmosphere were making his adrenaline go wild, which pushed his mind into mission mode, as he continued creeping down the hallway.

As any disturbing and sadistic person would, the Second-In-Command had laced his side of the Nexus full of traps. There was always little nuisances causing ruckus in his territory. Thus, there were booby-traps around every square inch of this resricted area. Should he be too busy to be arsed to deal with the matter himself, he had the computer system set to automatically trigger the integrated abuscades.

A couple metallic panels on the walls of the hallway slid away, revealing several electric nodes. The buzz of energy charging could be heard as the trap quickly prepared to deploy. Suddenly, the apparati fired a flurry of discharges, all aimed at Shane.

Shane paused, the sound of metal sliding against metal resounding in his ears, followed by the sound of an energy charge. What in the galaxy...Whoa! Shane jumped out of the way of the charges that came at him, barely getting out of the way in time. A surprised stare dominating his features as he watched the energy disspate.

Now that they have my attention... After a brief inspection of the trap, Shane fired two shots, disabling it. It might be a bit harder to catch me. Quietly, he continued down the hall, all senses primed and ready for action.

The trap being disarmed, the panels slid back over the devices as they were sent to be repaired. The interior of the Nexus was more or less fluid; entire rooms could be constructed and dismantled as the ship modified itself.

The system carefully examined Shane's each and every move through the cameras and sensors placed everywhere in the Nexus. Calculating possibilities and potential actions, the computer analyzed the scene, waiting for the prime moment to trigger a trap.

Boop

With lightning speed, a section of the ceiling above Shane slid away. However, the trap was not electric. Instead, a boulder sized cake dropped from the area above.

I stand corrected. Shane sighed to himself, glad that no one he personally knew was around to see him. After holstering his sidearm and freeing his arms, which took some effort, Shane pulled his vibroblade from it's place on his back and began cutting his way out of the massive cake. "Why...does everything...on this blasted...ship...have to be so...darn...big!!" This was going to take longer than he hoped it would as the process of cutting rectangle out of the side of the cake, and then pulling or pushing it over, was anything but quick.

Fifteen minutes later, Shane stood covered in cake and wishing that he had brought a least one small bomb with him to get rid of the colossal waste of ingredients. As things were there wasn't anything he could do with the cake, except to cut one more piece, slightly larger than his hand, to take with him. Replacing his vibroblade and drawing his sidearm yet agin, he moved foward, determined to meet whoever or whatever it was that thought of cake as a booby-trap.

Good cake, though.

Sic watched everything from their quarters, thoroughly unamused. What PART, of DO NOT ENTER, did NOBODY seem to understand? Fucking idiots..

They simmered in their chair, watching, waiting for the traps to hit this guy and make him PAY.

It was a sweet victory; the cake had managed to make contact with the target. However, the man managed to maneuver out of the delicious trap cake, taking a slice with him. Why would he waste an entire cake like that? Most people would spend days trying to consume the tasty baked good. The cooking programming would be very disappointed. Oh well. The frosting covered mess on the floor was swiftly desposed of as the floor gave way to reveal a giant pit of flames. The incinerator vaporized the cake. Goodbye, sweet cake.

The trespasser was continuing forward, undeterred. Perhaps it would be best to vamp up the threat level.

A flamethrower turret formed out of the wall, firing burning plasma at Shane.

(First coin, determine if flames hit. Second coin determines if burning occurs. If burn occurs, damage is at 5 per turn.)

RUN!! His mind screamed at him as he stuffed the last bit of cake into his mouth. The warning came too late. Even as Shane bolted foward to avoid the unknown danger, a flaming ball of plasma hit him square in the back, knocking him to the floor. His tempered flared slightly as he stood and inspected himself. There was little damage to his suit; only a prominent scorch mark on his jet-pack.

What's next? Attack of the donut-holes?

The flamethrower retracted back into the infrastructure of the Nexus. Shane was successfully being hit by the traps. However, he did not seem to be even close to retreating. This individual appeared to be particularly set on remaining in the Second-In-Command’s zone. Apparently, it would take much higher threat level traps to force Shane to disengage.

As Shane walked through the hallway, the system waited. It prepared its trap ahead, waiting for the man to get into place.

Suddenly, the walls in the hallway spread backed away, replaced by panels with nozzles attached. A paralyzing gas started to be emitted by the row of spouts. The air was soon filled with the muscle stopping vapor.

(Due to the near unavoidable nature of this attack, it will receive 2 attack coins. If both miss, Shane is somehow a badass.)

Man, this day was just going to get worse and worse, wasn't it. Shane's mood was rapidly going downhill now, as the panels in the wall were replaced by nozzles. He couldn't hear anything, but he had no intention of turning back now. He took a couple steps foward...and it was one of the last things he did for several minutes as the paralizing gas entered his bloodstream and took control of him muscles, causing Shane to fall completely limp onto the floor.

Sweet Mother of Venus!! Shane would've shouted, but his body didn't want to work anymore. He stared at his vibroblade, which was now lying outside his reach, having been dropped involuntarily by Shane when fell. He wanted to have it back in his hands where he knew it wouldn't be stolen or worse, used against him. But, it was hard to simply breath at the moment. The blade would have to wait.

Shane sensed, rather than felt, himself start spasming as his mind shifted into overdrive, trying to ride his body of toxin. He would've laughed at the mental picture that he had, of himself convulsing on the cold floor. But another though had struck him. How long is this gas affective for?! And that was a scary thought.

Target rendered incapacitated, paralyzed for five minutes. Commence transport.

The floor that Shane’s immobile body was lying on descended below the hallway, connecting onto a grid of cable rails. The vibroblade was carried along too as the platform moved through the mechanical network of the Nexus. Other panels, devices, and cargo boxes passed in all sorts of directions --being transported as well. Eventually, the square Shane was placed on slowed down before connecting onto a vertical cable. Rising up into an opening, Shane was brought to a containment cell. The room was cold and metallic, except for a door on one side and a wall that had a highly durable window on the other side. Through the window, it was possible to see another room. In the adjacent room, there was a large chair turned away from the window. All was quiet.

By now, the stunning agent was now no longer effective.

Yep, it had just gotten worse. A wave of anger came to the surface as Shane watched the ceiling of the hallway getting further and futher from his sight, until he couldn't see it at all. Moving his eyes from side to side, as the effects of the gas began to wear off, Shane attempted to calculated just how far down into the Nexus he was being taken. It seemed to be somewhere between the underworks and the personnel database, but he wasn't going to think about it that much.

Shane stood slowly, giving his head and body a chance to clear up, before talking a short, investigative walk around his cell. A perfectly square, cold, metal box...with a reinforced window that looked into, what appeared to be an interrogation room. Something else Shane decided he didn't need to think about as he settled in a corner opposite the side he figured the door/airlock was on. He'd had enough surprises for one day.

"All I wanted to do was talk to this Sic character." He muttered angrily. "Made sense that the best place to find him would be on his side of the ship." He hoped that he wouldn't have to stay long. Warp would start looking for him if he didn't show up by the end of the day.

Sic watched as their security system dealt with Shane before putting him in the 'special' interrogating room. Sic stood up from their chair and angrily put in the coordinates into their 'teleportation watch', instantly disappearing and reappearing in the room. They appeared a nice distance away from Shane, although they still glowered down at the man.

"Okay, seriously, what is WITH you people?! What PART of 'Do not Enter, go the FUCK away' does NOONE COMPREHEND?!??! WE GIVE YOU MOST OF THE SHIP TO WANDER AROUND IN, AND SOON ENOUGH, ACCESS TO YOUR OWN DAMN PLANETS!!! WHY DO YOU NEED TO COME HERE, TO MY SIDE OF THE SHIP?!??!?" Sic ranted, before calmly sitting in a chair and waiting for the man to answer. Sic was more than slightly territorial, and all of these people invading their side of the ship was really getting on their nerves.

Shane started slightly when Sic appeared in front of him, for two reasons: one, he hadn't been expecting it and two, he still wasn't used to Sic's visage. He hide a smile by tucking his knees up to his chest and folding his arm, and burying his face behind them before contemplating the SIC's question.

"My apologies, Sic." he kept a perfectly emotionless face as he answered the question. "But I was unaware that "Enter at your own risk" meant that I wasn't authorized to wander down this side of the ship. I only wanted to get better aquainted with you."

Sic doubted that the man had come here to get to know them. What kind of person just went and tried getting to know someone? Being a sociopath, Sic didn't really understand such a thing. They rested their chin on their fists, amused and still suspicious.

Shane smirked to himself, not bothering to hide it this time. He discovered that he was suddenly at a loss for words, and it wasn't that he didn't have questions, he just didn't know which one would be best to ask first. But he had to say something sometime. "Why did you booby-traps go from an energy pulse, to a giant cake, to a flaming plasma charge and nerve gas?" He attempted to ask his question with all seriousness, but the idea of cake as a deterant amused him.

Hmm, they really did need to fix that. A giant cake was...kinda useless. But everything else, they were pleased with.

I guess that would be a good reason. Shane nodded to himself. He decided he liked the diversity of the Nexus, if not the colossal challenge that it presented. Feeling more relaxed now than he had when Sic first transwarped, Shane posed a more personal question, just to see how, or if, Sic would answer it. "Where were you before you came to the Nexus?"

He was growing tense on the inside. He wanted to move, to sprint down a long hallway, to not be contained. But there was no way he could let it show. So. This is what it means to be captured. Boy, he had new for Ahsoka now.

Sic pondered that question a bit. When Dic and they had made this ship, they had agreed to keep as little personal information available to the people they'd pick up. They were leaving their old lives behind, starting new ones, and gathering planets and people to rule as they saw fit.

"Eeeeh, I was on a planet. Diccy was from the same planet too. It had humans and aliens living on it. Nothing too interesting." They shrugged, conveniently leaving a LOT of details out of it, like how Diccy was one such alien, and how they themselves might have more then just HUMAN ancestry.

"What about you? I bet you must be FASCINATING." Sic said, in an earnest tone.

A slightly amused smirk reappeared on Shane's face. "My history is not so different from what you've told me of yours. Grew up on a commerce/crime planet. Mixed population."

He understood Sic's intentional lack of detail, not being a person to talk a lot about sudh things himself.

Sic nodded then tapped their fingers on the table. Well, this got boring rather quickly, didn't it? Sic tried remembering from what they had read from this guy's file. When you are basically security on a ship like the Nexus, you don't get much time to read the files on everyone, their family tree, and their planets.

"Soo...you know the blue guy right? Warp? How'd you two get to know each other?"
